Leadership
Often times in missionary ministry a person is called upon to step in where the need arises. Just because of our roles as missionaries we are asked to be a part of leading or assisting various ministries. Making decisions, sitting in strategy sessions, developing new ministries, coordinating and hosting guests, construction teams, and preparing for conferences are all a part of the everyday life of a missionary. It is not necessarily the glamorous “picture perfect” moment, yet it is essential nonetheless.
Our ministry has numerous examples of this: sitting on the camp board of directors, developing a men’s ministry, making hotel arrangements and preparations for the many teams that are coming our way. While our fellow A/G missionary and country coordinator was back in the US for stateside assignment we were asked to be the interim country coordinator. This meant coordinating the ministry of the A/G in Lithuania, working with the other missionaries, and providing various services like transfer of funds, reports, etc. All of this is “under the radar” so to speak but is essential to the bigger picture. I feel confident that our leadership in this area will continue to expand in the months and years ahead.
