Church Planting
For us, church planting is what we are about and the heart of our ministry. The establishing of new churches has proven to be the most effective means of expanding the kingdom of God.
Church planting can take on many different forms: house churches, multi-site venues, missional planting, etc. The most important thing to consider is the cultural context in which the church planter finds himself.
When we came to Vilnius in 2005, we discovered that the culture was changing while the church was stagnant. After much prayer, study, and consultation with our leadership, we felt the time was right to begin a new church that would address some of the concerns of the current generation.
In the summer of 2006 we went public with our first service of the church we call "Kelyje." Kelyje in the Lithuanian language means "on the road" or “on the journey." For us it defines where we all are: on a spiritual journey. We have committed as a church to accept people from every walk of life without regard to their past. Instead, we focus on building relationships with them, showing them unconditional love, and demonstrating the hope that we have found in Jesus.
Our church has influenced numerous lives and we have seen people come to Jesus. It is exciting to see people come, build relationships, and become excited about their faith. Some of those who come to our church are attending church consistently for the first time in their lives. What a joy it is to experience life with these fine people.
