Bible College
I (David) am the Academic Dean at the Vilnius Theological College (VTC.) VTC was started in 1996 as a two-year residential Bible College. Over the years that has entirely changed. We currently offer several programs ranging from one to four years. These programs are delivered through a combination of correspondence and extension courses.
The way the courses are taught may have changed, but the mission of the college has not changed:
“The Union of Pentecostal Churches of Lithuania’s spiritual educational institution Vilnius Theological College provides the opportunity to those called of God to develop their gifts and prepare them for ministry to fulfil the Great Commission of Christ.”
VTC has one of the largest Russian theological libraries in the region. The local language, however, is not Russian, but Lithuanian! This means that our students are almost always working in a second language. Lithuania's time as an independent nation is increasing and many young people are not learning Russian as a second language, but as a third. They are choosing to learn English instead of Russian (after their mother tongue: Lithuanian). What this all boils down to is: We need additional finances to translate more theological books into Lithuanian.
We are quite appreciative of the giving of children toward this project through BGMC. You have built an incredible library kids! Thanks! Now we need to translate as many books as possible into Lithuanian. If you would like to help with this project, just let me know.
