About Kandra

I grew up in Wisconsin, but am not a cheesehead! I am the third of six children. I have many fond memories of camping as a child. David and I have carried on that tradition of camping with our children. We have enjoyed camping in several countries of Europe.

I attended North Central University where I met David. We were married in 1984. During our time as pastors in northern Minnesota, I became a nurse. Through the years, this profession has been a blessing in my life both in America and overseas. I thank God for the knowledge and the gift of medicine which has allowed me to touch the lives of many people.

Our two daughters, Eliza and Stefanija, now both adults and living in America, spent a good part of their lives living overseas enjoying their lives as missionary kids! They feel blessed to have had the opportunities of travel, language learning, cultural experiences, and making life-long friends from around the world! They are incredible young ladies, passionate about Jesus. Eliza and Stef are great joys in my life. They are not only my daughters, but my friends! I am a blessed mom!

David and I are empty nesters now. This has been a big transition for us. We are adjusting and thankful for the great friendship we have with each other. David and I enjoy our times of sharing over coffee in our comfy chairs, staying up late watching a good movie or TV show, reading, and of course in the summer, camping in a tent…the most romantic thing a couple could ever do.

Due to the nature of our ministries, we often have guests in our home. I thoroughly enjoy entertaining and hosting people from around the world. I love setting a pretty table, using my nice dishes, lighting candles, and visiting with many guests and friends.

Living overseas is an adventure. We really go with the flow of things and realize “flexibility” is a must in this culture. In this life I live, I’ve learned that the will of God will never lead me where the grace of God cannot keep me.

Every life is precious to God. Therefore, even when our work here seems to be more planting than reaping, I am reminded…

“We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” Mother Teresa
